Preci is par excellence “the land of prosciutto” and the place to host the “Preci tra bike e sapori” event, held on the third weekend of November 2023, in the name of the combination of food, environment and sport.

The two-day event included numerous events, involving talks, mountain bike routes, guided tours, and tastings, to rediscover traditions and local products. On this occasion, Jacopo Pallottini, the Manager of Salpi Prosciutto Factory, said in the AVI NEWS interview (UmbriaNews) that ” Prosciutto is culture and history in Preci. The presence of woods and oaks, in particular, have pushed the populations to the breeding of pigs in the wild, which here could feed themselves, since the times of the Ancient Romans.” Taking a leap from the origins to the present day, Jacopo Pallottini explained some fundamental steps in the production process of the famous prosciutto di Norcia PGI that we produce here.

The Municipal Administration of Preci took care of the organization of the event and was financed through regional resources of the FSC within the framework of the “Piano di Sviluppo e Coesione Umbriaperta.”
